Female statuette with braid

The statuette was found in 1956 in the dwelling. It is a figurine of a fubsy woman (typical for Mal'ta collection). The large head is well-modeled. The headdress is clearly separated from the face. Light relief marks breasts. Proportionate in thickness, the arms are bent at the elbows and brought together under the breast. Undifferentiated legs form a cone, on the top of the cone there is a round hole which is small in diameter. Hips and seat extended and raised up. The legs are separated from the abdomen by a deep carved line. The statuette has a number of details that are not found on other figurines: in the right upper part of the chest there is a diagonal carved line. M.M. Gerasimov sees an image of a scythe slung in it. In the upper part of the arms, deep transverse cut marks are visible, possibly depicting bracelets. The upper part of the abdomen (under folded hands) is twined with an ornamental row of deep indentations.
